PHILADELPHIA 2016 (PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)

Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States of America)
September 14th, 2016. Two travelers, 1 day trip

September 14 Wednesday, 2016

  • Traveled by Bus: 08:30 am from Avalon, Cape May County, New Jersey with 315 bus —–> to Atlantic City —-> 09:40 am to ‘Greyhound’ Bus Station, Fhiladelphia [$ 12.50 x 1 pers.]. I came to the people who took the bed for free (Couchsurfing) upon arrival
  • Traveled on foot – visited objects:
  • Philadelphia 9th Street Italian Market – here you can buy vegetables, fruits, spices and more
  • Breakfast: in ‘Geno’s Steaks’ café. Declares itself as the best Cheesestake manufacturers. I tried – tasty food. On the other side of the street, another cafe called ‘Pat’s Kings of Steaks’ says making Cheesestake since 1930. I tried to taste – was also delicious [$ 10 x 1 pers.]
  • Eastern State Penitentiary – held a prison tour with headphones [$ 12 x 1 pers.]
  • Washington Square
  • I walked along the Delaware River, on the streets of Philadelphia and wondering what an artistic city is: every wall is decorated with drawings, mosaics of glass or ceramics, and so on.
  • Market Street
  • Logan Square
  • The Philadelphia Museum of Art – offers views of the city.  There was a tour inside the museum
  • The Rocky Statue and the Rocky Steps
  • Traveled by car: the people I stayed with showed me the night city of Philadelphia. I looked at ‘Ben Franklin Bridge’, and I was very comfortable with ‘Spruce Street Harbor Park’ (the park was lit with hanging lights, hammocks hanging over the river, lots of cafes). I would like to mention that I first tried Couchsurfing when traveling. People who accepted were friends, kind, helpful, friendly. They gave me good advice on what to do and see in the city, brought me to the airport in the morning. I am not disappointed, I will be able to give a contact if you need it

September 15th Thursday, 2016

TRIPTIP - travel tips:

* The city center of
Philadelphia is small,
cozy and possible walking
around on foot. The
nightlife is als
worth a see. Who likes
to spend the evenings
in city cafes, I
highly recommend
'Spruce Street
Harbor Park'.

* For my first time
I tried Couchsurfing,
I have good contacts and
I will share it if you need.
